Dopo un anno significativo, i Writers Guild of America Awards 2024 hanno assegnato i loro premi alla scrittura.
I Writers Guild Awards 2024 hanno premiato la scrittura eccezionale nelle categorie cinema, televisione, nuovi media, notizie, radio e promozione.
Si è rivelata una serata da ricordare per i team di The Holdovers, American Fiction, The Bear e Succession, che hanno tutti concluso le stagioni dei premi in bellezza. La cerimonia dei WGA Awards 2024 si è tenuta all’Hollywood Palladium per l’edizione della West Coast il 14 aprile e all’Edison Ballroom di New York per l’evento della East Coast. In particolare, la commedia drammatica di successo della HBO di Jesse Armstrong, Succession, ha vinto due premi all’evento di New York. Questa è stata l’ultima importante cerimonia di premiazione a cui lo spettacolo ha potuto partecipare dopo essersi conclusa in modo esplosivo nel maggio 2023.
Il programma ha portato a casa il riconoscimento come dramma a episodi per la sesta puntata della quarta stagione “Living+”, nonché uno dei premi più dorati in palio, la migliore serie drammatica.
Tra gli altri vincitori degni di nota c’è lo scrittore americano Cord Jefferson, che lo ha adattato dal romanzo del 2001 Erasure di Percival Everett. Per il suo debutto alla regia, Jefferson è stato anche insignito del Paul Sevlin Award. Altrove, artisti del calibro di Beef, The Last of Us e Poker Face hanno avuto successo.
