Il miglior film è Oppnheimer di Christopher Nolan che si aggiudica anche il Bafta per la miglior regia. Miglior attore è l’atteso Cillian Murphy nel ruolo della vita dello scienziato creatore della bomba atomica. Miglor attrice la sempre più in ascesa Emma Stone ha la meglio su Sandra Huller di Anatomy of fall. Il miglior film inglese e straniero è The Zone of Interest il dramma sull’olocausto firmato Jonathan Glazer.
“Oppenheimer” guidava le nomination con 13, seguito da “Poor Things” con 11. Entrambi in lizza per il miglior film, mentre “Oppenheimer” ha ricevuto anche nomination per la sceneggiatura adattata, la regia per Christopher Nolan, l’attrice non protagonista per Emily Blunt, l’attore non protagonista per Robert Downey Jr. e l’attore protagonista per Cillian Murphy. “Poor Things” è in concorso anche per la sceneggiatura adattata, oltre che per l’attrice protagonista Emma Stone e per il miglior film britannico. Seguivano “Killers of the Flower Moon” e “The Zone of Interest” con nove nomination. Anche “Anatomia di una caduta”, “The Holdovers” e “Maestro” erano in gara con sette nomination ciascuno.
Miglior film di animazione si conferma Il Ragazzo e l’airone di Miyazaki.
Il premio per la Stella in Ascesa va alla talentuosa Mia McKenna-Bruce interprete di How to have Sex.
I vincitori dei BAFTA Awards si preparano ad intraprendere una corsia preferenziale verso la strada agli Oscar 2024.
