BAFTA 2022 tutte le nomination : candidato anche ‘É stata la mano di Dio’

BAFTA 2022 le nomination : La British Academy of Film and Television Arts ha svelato le sue nomination ai premi. Arriva un altro importante riconoscimento per il film di Paolo Sorrentino É stata la mano di Dio, candidato come miglior film straniero.

Le nomination di quest’anno sono piene di sorprese che riflettono un cambiamento. A guidare le nomination è l’epico thriller di fantascienza di Denis Villeneuve “Dune”, che ha ottenuto 11 nomination, molte nelle categorie tecniche.

Il  western di Jane Campion “The Power of the Dog” ha ottenuto otto nomination, mentre il film drammatico personale di Kenneth Branagh “Belfast” ne ha ricevute sei. Il canto del cigno di Daniel Craig nei panni di Bond, “No Time to Die“, ha raccolto cinque candidature, insieme a “Licorice Pizza” di Paul Thomas Anderson, ambientato negli anni ’70, e al reboot musicale di Steven Spielberg “West Side Story”.

BAFTA 2022 le nomination agli attori

Nel campo della migliore attrice, Lady Gaga ha ottenuto la sua seconda nomination ai BAFTA per “House of Gucci“, mentre le inglesi Joanna Scanlan (“After Love“) ed Emilia Jones (“Coda) hanno ottenuto la nomination insieme ad Alana Haim (“Licorice Pizza”) e Tessa Thompson (“Passing”). A risaltare nella categoria c’è la star norvegese Renate Reinsve, nominata per la sua memorabile interpretazione in “The Worst Person in the World” di Joachim Trier (che è anche in competizione nel film non nella categoria in lingua inglese).

In particolare mancano nella corsa alla migliore attrice Nicole Kidman (“Being The Ricardos”) e Olivia Colman (“The Lost Daughter”);  entrambe avrebbero dovuto essere le prime due contendenti in campo, e in particolare quest’ultima britannica, che ha vinto il premio nel 2019 per “The Favourite”. Un’altra omissione importante è Kristen Stewart (“Spencer”), la cui principessa Diana evidentemente non ha influenzato gli elettori dei BAFTA.

Nella corsa al miglior attore, Benedict Cumberbatch è in lizza per “The Power of the Dog”, mentre Stephen Graham ha ottenuto la sua prima nomination ai BAFTA per un film (è stato nominato quattro volte in precedenza per i BAFTA TV Awards) per la sua performance da chef tormentato in “Boiling Point“. Altri nominati includono Adeel Akhtar (“Ali & Ava“), Mahershala Ali (“Swan Song”) e Leonardo DiCaprio (“Don’t Look Up“), mentre Will Smith ha ottenuto la sua prima nomination ai BAFTA per aver interpretato Richard Williams, il formidabile padre e manager delle superstar del tennis Venus e Serena Williams, in “King Richard“.

BAFTA 2022 le nomination inattese

A perdere una nomination come miglior attore è stato  Denzel Washington, la cui interpretazione di Macbeth al fianco di Frances McDormand in “The Tragedy of Macbeth” no ha convinto i membri del BAFTA.

Nella corsa all’attrice non protagonista, i candidati includono Caitríona Balfe (“Belfast”), Jessie Buckley (“The Lost Daughter”), Ariana Debose (“West Side Story”), Ann Dowd (“Mass”), Aunjanue Ellis (“King Richard”) e Ruth Negga (“Passing”).

Tutti i candidati COME attori non protagonisti sono esordienti ai BAFTA. Il gruppo comprende: Mike Faist (“West Side Story”), Ciarán Hinds (“Belfast”), Troy Kotsur (“Coda”), Woody Norman (“C’mon C’mon”), Jesse Plemons (“The Power of il cane”) e Kodi Smit-McPhee (“Il potere del cane”).

Le candidature sono state rivelate dal presentatore AJ Odudu e Tom Allen a Londra.
